The Faye Langley Cowden Chair, established through the Alamo Heights School Foundation in 1994 through a gift from Mrs. Faye L. Cowden, in honor of Mrs. Cowden and the Alamo Heights Class of 1930. Mrs. Cowden was a graduate of the Class of 1930 and a former elementary school teacher. As a long-time resident of San Antonio, she made many generous contributions to the community.
The Faye Langley Cowden Chair recognizes an outstanding elementary teacher who represents the best traditions in instruction and dedication of teachers in Alamo Heights. The recipient is named to the chair for a three year term and receives a stipend to carry out projects that enhance learning in the classroom. |
