Grants to Educators Awards
The Alamo Heights School Foundation's current Grants to Educators program was established in 1998 as Innovative Grants. The Innovative Grants program awarded AHISD teacher applicants with grant funds, enabling and encouraging them to be innovative in their approach to teaching, motivating and inspiring student learning through developing activities or approaches outside normal curriculum or teaching patterns.
In 2009, the AHSF evolved Innovative Grants to its current Grants to
Educators program. The following four focus areas from the AHISD Strategic Plan are used as the premise for allocating Grants to Educators funding.
All Learning will be Engaging, Relevant & Challenging
AHSF supports educator efforts aimed at attaining academic excellence
through specific and rigorous academic experiences.
Closing the Achievement Gap
AHSF supports educator efforts of differentiated instruction in core
curriculum to address the varied needs of students.
Ensuring a High-Performing Faculty and Staff
AHSF recognizes that an integral part of excellence in education is
continued educator development, collaboration, and leadership.
Creating a Culture of Participation that Ensures Equitable Access to
Academic (and Extra-Curricular) Activities
AHSF supports projects and programs that further equitable access to
academic activities for all students in the AHISD.
All AHISD educators may apply for Grants to Educators funding. The AHSF will be awarding up to $100,000 in total funding this year.
