In 2007, the AHSF established the Teacher for Academic Excellence in Science at Alamo Heights High School. This position was created to be more than just a teaching position. The faculty member filling this position will not only bring superior knowledge and skills in the field of science to the AHISD, but will serve as an inspiration to students to become future leaders in the sciences. This faculty member will also be charged with networking with our local scientific community to facilitate real-life opportunities for high school students interested in scientific fields. This position was filled for the first time during the 2007 – 2008 school year by Jenny Casares.
