What is the Box Tops for Education Program and how does it benefit my school?

Erica Becvar and Rachel Gurwitz are our Cambridge Elementary Box Tops Coordinators.  You’ll see their names and contact info on all Cambridge Box Tops materials.  The Box Tops for Education Program web site is www.boxtops4education.com. The Box Tops fund-raising program offers some great opportunities for our school.  We hope to help our school get as close to the $60,000 available from the Box Tops program as possible!  You can help reach for this goal in several ways:

·         Join the Box Tops for Education Booster Clubsm at www.boxtops4education.com. Benefits include seeing Box Tops earnings, chances to win Bonus Box Tops, money-saving coupons, shopping online and earning cash for your school, and staying up-to-date with Box Tops newsletters.  We get 5 extra points for each person who joins!

·         Shop your favorite online stores at the Box Tops Marketplace. Up to 8% of each qualifying purchase is donated to Cambridge.

·         Earn a full 1% on every purchase for Cambridge with the Box Tops Visa® card. Apply today at http://www.boxtops4education.com or call 1-800-650-0235.

But the most exciting, rewarding, and engaging Box Tops program is Clipping the Box Tops.  Cambridge can win $20,000 from this program alone.  Clip Box Tops from hundreds of participating products. Box Tops are worth 10¢ each when we redeem them from the Box Tops program.

To encourage students and staff to participate in the Box Tops program, we have set up deadlines with prizes to recognize and reward students and staff for collecting Box Tops. We had our first award ceremony at the November 2005 Celebration of Learning event.  Our second award ceremony will be at the April 2006 Celebration of Learning event.  See below for more details on dates and rewards.

So, how is our school doing?

As of 3 January 2006, we have collected 8,400 Box Tops.  That may sound like a lot, and everyone has been working hard.  However, that is only $840 worth of Box Tops towards our goal of $10,000 (or 100,000 Box Tops).   If everyone brings in at least 7 Box Tops a week, we can make our goal!

For up-to-date stats, check out the poster next to the Box Tops collection box near the Nurse’s office.  The poster shows how we are doing in reaching the overall school goal, how each class is doing, and how many Box Tops each grade has collected.
