David R. Schmidt, M.D.

Dr. David Schmidt is one of the most active members of the sports community in the city of San Antonio. He serves as the Team Physician for the San Antonio Spurs, the San Antonio Missions (Seattle Mariners - AA team) and Trinity University as well as several other local high schools. A Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Schmidt served as the Medical Director for the 1989 AAU Junior Olympics and the 1995 U.S. Senior Sports Classic. He was the Medical Coordinator for the 1993 U.S. Olympic Festival and served on the medical staffs of the 1995 World University Games and the 1996 Olympic Games. In addition, Dr. Schmidt is a founding Board Member and past Chairman of the San Antonio Sports Foundation.
