Nikola Tesla had one of the world's most inventive minds, but his idiosyncrasies and lack of business sense held him back. He once worked with Thomas Edison, but they became rivals. Some people say they were enemies.
Tesla had many obstacles. He was cheated repeatedly by many people, including Edison. People would form a business in his name then leave with all the money.
His biggest contributions to electricity are the Tesla Coil, a machine that produces large amounts of very high voltage electricity with low current, and the alternating current induction motor which generates AC electricity.
His goals were to use nature's power to produce electricity for the world and to build a huge radio city (his funding was cut off while working on the radio city). Tesla never accomplished his goal to use nature to power the world, but he did use Niagara Falls to produce electricity.
