The point of our claymation is to show how Mel Fisher probably found the Atocha shipwreck. Mel Fisher swims down to see an interesting looking shipwreck. When he gets to the bottom, he digs and finds a gold bar. Then Mel swims back up to the surface carrying the bar. The hardest thing to show was him discovering the bar. We planned to include an octopus in our claymation, but realized this was too hard. The reason we wanted to do a video about the Atocha was because we thought it would be easy. It turned out to be much harder than we thought. We had to think hard about the background and how we would show Mel swimming.

Some problems we had were trying to make the scene more interesting. We found this very hard and all we could come up with in the amount of time we had was for him to find something at the bottom, the gold bar. We got very lucky because the leg fell off our clay figure after the last picture. It was hard to put humor into Mel Fisher discovering the Atocha, so we didn’t.
