Our story is about how ancient man might have discovered fire. Lighting strikes a tree and the tree is on fire as the scene opens. Ancient man gets overexcited when he sees the fire and touches it. His hand catches on fire and he doesn’t know what to do but he knows he is in pain. He runs off the stage shaking his hand. Ancient man runs to the watering hole and sticks his hand in the water. The fire goes out and he is relieved. What he doesn’t know is that a baby Wooly Mammoth is charging from behind! Ancient man tries to run away but he is tossed up in the air by the mammoth and lands on his face in the dirt.

We decided to do our Claymation on man discovering fire because we thought we could make a humorous video about what might have happened. We had to figure out how to show the man’s hand on fire and didn’t actually come up with the idea of using yellow cellophane until we were shooting our scene. We also had to come up with a scene change so he could stick his hand in water. The main problems we had were that our clay man’s frame wasn’t too strong and he couldn’t stand up on his own. We also had trouble with our mammoth because the tusk kept falling off. We decided to change the expression on our man throughout the scenes and had to keep remaking his face. It took fifty four pictures to make our video.
