And now, new for the 2006 – 2007 school year, we are collecting Tyson labels and Campbell’s labels.  Tyson labels are worth 24¢ each, and Campbell’s labels can be turned in for items for Cambridge from the Campbell’s catalog! Be sure to include the entire label from Tyson when submitting the Tyson Labels.  Visit www.tyson.com/projectaplus for more information. For the Campbell’s labels, turn in the UPC or lid.  You’ll find the UPC next to the Campbell’s Kid.

·         Collect 20,000 Box Tops/Labels or $2,000 The most ever raised in one full calendar year at Cambridge was about $1,700.  And that’s just from trash!  This year, we’re shooting for just 3,000 more Box Tops.

·         Increase staff participationThe 2005 – 2006 school year was the first year to really get Cambridge staff involved in the Box Top program.  We received several hundred from the staff!  We will continue with contests for all staff members, ensure they get copies of all fliers, and continue to recognize them at the Celebrations of Learning.

So, how is our school doing?

As of 16 September 2006, we have collected 4,457 from Box Tops and labels.  That may not sound like a lot, but just remember, that is just from collecting trash!  Perhaps you can even think of it as a form of recycling.  But that’s $445 towards our goal of $2,000 (or 20,000 Box Tops and labels) and from very little effort.   And remember, Tyson labels will even get us there sooner as they are worth 24 cents each.  Remember to turn in the entire Tyson label.  Campbell’s labels can be turned in for items for Cambridge from the Campbell’s catalog.

For up-to-date stats, check out the poster at the Box Tops collection bins – one next to the nurse’s office in the 1st through 3rd grade wing and another at the beginning of the 4th and 5th grade wing.  The posters shows how we are doing in reaching the overall school goal, how each class is doing, and how many Box Tops each grade has collected, and how the students are doing compared to the staff!
