Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)
State-Developed Alternative Assessment II (SDAA II)
The TAKS has been developed to better reflect good instructional practice and to more accurately measure student learning. The test includes more of the state curriculum, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Released tests are available on the Internet at the TEA website (http://www.tea.state.tx.us/student.assessment/).
The SDAA II is intended for those students enrolled in Grades 3-8 who are being instructed in the TEKS in mathematics, reading, and/or writing, but for whom TAKS, even with allowable accommodations and/or modifications, is not an appropriate measure of their academic progress.
