Nutrition Services: Menus
Menus for Alamo Heights are created locally in order to meet the preference of our student population. All menus are designed to be compliant to the USDA’s new food-based menu planning as well as TDA guidelines. Menus meet weekly “component” requirements for protein, grains, fruits, vegetables and milk. In addition, menus meet nutrition requirements for calories, saturated fat, trans-fat and sodium.Chef Pena takes Alamo Heights’ menus to another level by maintaining the food characteristics that are unique to San Antonio. These items include Enchilada Wednesdays, breakfast tacos, and charro beans. We are constantly experimenting with new flavors and recipes to keep our students excited about our food. |
The information below comes directly from the Nutrition Services Department. Nutrition Services updates the menus displayed here on this page. If there are any errors or broken links, please email Sarah Evans at sevans@ahisd.net.
