Randy
Johnson received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Education
degrees from the University of North Texas. He has been at Alamo
Heights for eighteen years, the last seven as Director of Alamo
Heights High School Orchestras and Supervisor of Strings for AHISD. He
has conducted for Austin Youth Orchestra, University of Texas Longhorn
Music Camp, and Youth Orchestras of San Antonio Summer Strings
camp. In addition to acting as a clinician and competition judge
in various parts of the state, Randy subs with the San Antonio
Symphony and performs professionally on the String Bass with classical
and jazz ensembles and various regional acts. In April 2002, Randy
performed with Daddy Rabbit in Crawford, TX for British
Prime Minister Tony Blair, President George Bush and a small group
of VIP’s. Randy and his wife Cathy have three children. |
Gene Williams earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance degrees from Texas Tech University. This is his first year as a member of the strings faculty in Alamo Heights ISD. He has seventeen years of teaching experience and has performed professionally, playing many instruments in many different styles. Gene has taught all age levels from sixth grade through college graduate students. He has adjudicated various UIL region level ensemble contests and has served as a clinician for groups ranging in age from seventh grade through high school.
