March 31, 2020

Dear AHISD Families,

I continue to be filled with gratitude for our AHISD Family and our greater Alamo Heights community as we face the challenges presented during this time.  I am extremely proud of how our students, teachers, staff and community have embraced our continuous learning efforts and move forward in hope and optimism as we continue on this journey together.

Based on today’s executive order to further reduce the spread of COVID-19 by Governor Greg Abbott, AHISD will extend our facility closure through Friday, May 1. Additionally, we will work to comply with Mayor Ron Nirenberg  and the emergency Stay Home, Work Safe order for the city of San Antonio.

I want to assure you that we will continue to engage our students through our AHISD Continuous Learning Plan. Through your support and partnership, our teachers will keep teaching and our students will keep learning. Visit our AHISD Continuous Learning Site for resources and support. Our technology team will continue to provide support to our families through the AHISD Help Desk, at (210) 832-5780, Option 1. We also will continue our commitment to serve meals for families in need, and our student counseling services will remain available to any student in need.

The safety and well-being of our community remains at the forefront of all our decisions. We encourage you to visit our COVID19 website for important updates and resources.

I am grateful to each of you for your continued support, and I’m grateful for our amazing AHISD  staff members who are resolutely dedicated to meeting our students' needs at this time.

Warm regards,

Dana
