Tennis State Qualifiers
Four AHHS tennis players qualified for the UIL State Tennis Tournament held in San Antonio back in May. Naomi Sutin and Ellie Rose made it to the state quarterfinals. Brandon Tragord and Santiago Castelazo advanced to the state semifinals. Their coach is David Daniel.
Substitute Teachers Century Club
Substitute teacher Robert Delgado was recognized as a member of the AHISD Substitute Century Club, for substitutes who completed 100 assignments this year.

Trustees adopt 2025-26 Budget
Trustees adopted a 2025-2026 General Fund budget of $72,978,859, representing a 6.4% decrease from the 2024-2025 General Fund budget. Additionally, annual budgets of $1,160,000 for Food Service and $20,898,100 for Debt Service were also adopted. The Board of Trustees also reviewed the budget and tax rate adoption calendar with the proposed tax rate hearing on the schedule for August of 2025. The legislature passed a law that provides districts funds restricted to a $4,000 raise for teachers with 3 to 5 years of experience and $8,000 for teachers with more than 5 years experience. Those amounts are included in the 2025-26 Budget. Based primarily on the difficult work done by the Budget Advisory Council and Board of Trustees last fall, a 4% raise on the midpoint for auxiliary staff and a 2% raise on the midpoint raise for all other employees is included. Information regarding the 2025-2026 budget adoption was presented by Matt Streger, Chief Financial Officer.
Frank Stanage, Assistant Superintendent for Operations, presented a Texas School Safety Center Intruder Detection Audit.
Trustees received an update on the District’s Target Areas for 2025-2026 from Dr. Jimmie Walker, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction; Frank Stanage, Assistant Superintendent for Operations; Matt Streger, Chief Financial Officer; and Brian Grenier, Director of Technology.
Trustees received an annual report on 2024-2025 Facility Rentals; and approved a resolution about 4H Extracurricular Activities and the 2025-26 Education Service Center (ESC) Region 20 Commitment Forms. They also approved the purchase of Internet Filtering and Classroom Device Management Solutions and Bus Camera Systems to be funded with Bond 2023 funds. Trustees also approved the annual payment to the College Board for standardized testing instruments.
As required by Board policy GKD (LOCAL), the Board approved the rental of district facilities for a non-school use beyond six months.
Trustees accepted the results of an Efficiency Audit conducted by Armstrong, Vaughan and Associates, PC in accordance with requirements under the State of Texas Legislative Budget Board.
Donations were accepted from: Brian Parks; Mule Team; Valero Energy Foundation, and tennis parent accounts; and Alamo Heights School Foundation. The accepted donations totaled $1,845,107.31.
Trustees accepted reports from the Safety, Policy, Building, Budget, Goals and Priorities, and Assessment and Long Range Planning committees.
