Alamo Heights ISD is committed to keeping the community informed about the work of the Board of Trustees. This board summary highlights the action and recognitions from the latest Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees.


Recognitions

 

Powering the Profile Mariana Medaris, Cambridge Bilingual/ESL Coordinator/Academic Interventionist, was recognized for Powering the Profile for embodying the AHISD Profile of a Learner. Visit the AHISD YouTube channel for a video showing how she empowers students, staff, and families to ‘communicate and collaborate.’
State Swim and Dive The Board recognized the swimmer and diver who qualified for last month’s UIL State Swimming and Diving Meet. Henry Tucker won 4th place in 1 meter diving and Cameron Percival finished in 11th place in both the 100 and 200 freestyle.
Student Council Update AHHS Student Council President Veer Patel and Vice President Lindsey Lam shared an update with Trustees.

Other Board Action and Presentations  


Dr. Ariana Hernandez, Howard Principal; Sean Reno, Woodridge Principal, and Yvonne Munoz, Cambridge Principal; presented campus Community Based Accountability System (CBAS) reports.
Dr. Jimmie Walker, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, presented an overview of results from the Feedback February survey. The results will be communicated, analyzed, and used for planning and improvement in the coming months. More than 1,880 parents, 3,400 students, and 370 teachers participated in the annual survey.
Dr. Walker and Frank Stanage, Assistant Superintendent of Operations, presented a Strategic Compensation Plan that highlighted the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Enhanced Plan.
Trustees approved the purchase of new AHHS band uniforms, eight new school buses to replace older, less fuel-efficient vehicles, a district WiFi Access Point refresh, library book procurement, and a new crisis alert system.
Donations were accepted from the Alamo Heights School Foundation. The accepted donations totaled $6,938.66.
Trustees accepted reports from the Building, Communications, Policy, Goals and Priorities, Safety and Security, and Assessment and Long Range Planning committees; and Alamo Heights School Foundation.
Following discussion in Executive Session, Trustees approved a Good Cause Exemption In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 37.353 as well as Assault Leave for an employee.
