Instructional Materials

As per the Texas Education Code, “instructional materials selected for use in public schools shall be furnished without cost to students attending those schools”.  Each school district is entitled to an annual allotment from the state Instructional Materials fund for each student enrolled in the district. Alamo Heights ISD does participate in this allotment process.

Senate Bill 6 from the 82nd Texas Legislature, First Called Session, 2011, created an instructional materials allotment (IMA) for the purchase of instructional materials, technological equipment, and technology-related services.  The amount of the allotment is determined biennially by the commissioner and is based on the legislative appropriation.
