The goals of the Alamo Heights ISD Wellness Program, as outlined in the District strategic plan, include:
- Implement comprehensive, coordinated
K-12 education programs that include a variety of age-appropriate
interventions demonstrated to eliminate drug and alcohol use;
- Implement coordinated, district-wide
student education to equip students with tools to cope positively with
social and emotional challenges;
- Implement a district-wide education program for parents, faculty and staff targeting social and emotional issues;
- Create well-defined, well-publicized avenues to anonymously report safety concerns;
- Track students’ developmental strengths in order to identify students in need; and
- Ensure that all students and their
families are provided timely and appropriate counseling services to
meet their social and emotional needs.
