In an effort to provide additional support to parents and children in the special education program, AHISD has a Parent Liaison, Michelle Harrison. Her role is to assist parents and staff with communication, advocacy, resources and support.

As a Parent Liaison, Michelle  works with parents to form support networks and address concerns and communication issues that pertain to special education students and families in the district.

With offices at the EDC, she has created a resource library for parents and staff and she is frequently called to help with ongoing activities in the department. She  continues to create opportunities for parents to gather, get to know each other, and share common concerns with special children and their families. She welcomes your ideas, your questions and your concerns. She invites you to become an active participant in your child's educational experience.
