Update- The Texas Education Agency has delayed the release of STAAR scores which was originally planned for June 24. AHISD will let families know when results will be available once TEA announces a new release date.

The spring results of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) and End of Course (EOC) will be available from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on Friday, June 24. There are two options for parents to view their child’s scores.

Option 1: From AHISD Home Access Center (HAC), click on the GRADES tab. Look for a new tab called TEXAS TEST SCORES. From here, parents can view a direct report of their child’s scores.

Option 2: Through the Texas Education Agency Student Data Portal, parents can view test results across administrations and years. For those that did not save the access code from past administrations, it can be obtained by entering their child’s social security number and birth date.

Additional information on accessing the TEA Student Portal is available in English and Spanish.

There are four performance levels for STAAR and End-of-Course Exams.
● Masters Grade Level (passing): Masters Grade Level means the student is expected to succeed in the next grade or course with little or no academic intervention.
● Meets Grade Level (passing): Meets Grade Level means the student has a high likelihood of success in the next grade or course but may still need some short-term, targeted academic intervention.
● Approaches Grade Level (passing): Approaches Grade Level means the student is likely to succeed in the next grade or course with targeted academic intervention.
● Does Not Meet Grade Level (not passing): Students at this level have not passed and performance at this level indicates a student is unlikely to succeed in the next grade or course without significant, ongoing academic intervention.

Contact the Curriculum Office at (210) 832-5954 with any difficulties or questions about accessing exam results. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Staff is happy to assist and help families understand their child’s scores.

Student learning is complex, nuanced, and cannot be fully understood by a single test given on a single day. Families should use the information from STAAR, in combination with other data, to understand their child’s academic progress. At the beginning of the school year, parents are encouraged to discuss the test results with their child’s teacher to work together to support student learning.
