In an effort to provide additional support to parents and children in the special education program, AHISD has a Parent Liaison, Michelle Harrison. Her role is to assist parents and staff with communication, advocacy, resources and support.

As Parent Liaison, Michelle  works with parents to form support networks and address concerns and communication issues that pertain to special education students and families in the district.

With offices at the EDC, she maintains an electronic resource list for parents and staff. She partners with teachers at the various campuses to create opportunities to gather, get to know one another, and share concerns with other families. She welcomes your ideas, questions and concerns and invites you to become an active participant in your child's educational experience.
