“We are so grateful for the overwhelming support of the Alamo Heights ISD community,” said AHISD Superintendent, Dr. Dana Bashara. “We appreciate everyone who provided input about our district needs and also who took the time to learn about the bond proposal and then went to vote. Bond 2023 is the result of over a year of work by our Board of Trustees, staff and students and other community stakeholders who provided input to articulate the needs in AHISD. Bond 2023 is phase two of the work of Bond 2017 and allows us to continue our commitment to provide the highest-quality learning environment for our students and our staff.”

Proposition A included safety and security infrastructure improvements as well as updated learning spaces at all campuses. A new Howard Early Childhood Center building will be constructed, along with new academic and high school administrative buildings that includes a security vestibule at Alamo Heights High School in the new building. Proposition A also funds a new Central Office/Learning Center and updated athletic facilities including a softball field at the Robbins campus complex that already includes the Natatorium and Tennis Center. Also included is the purchase of new buses and music instruments for our students.

Proposition B will fund the creation of extracurricular team and meeting spaces for AH students and community members underneath a rebuilt visitor bleacher at Orem Stadium. The current structure was constructed in 1947. Proposition C includes lifecycle replacements of student and staff devices.

The next phase of bond work - design and planning - will start later this year and include opportunities for the community to be involved in the process and offer input.
